prose – the ordinary form of spoken or written language, without metrical structure,

On cover letter you would wanna express interest in job kind of like introducing yourself and so forth verses your resume just shows your education experience work history. Resume strictly focus on credentials vs cover letter is more to address your interest in position and just a brief intro just so they are aware of why they have your resume pretty much.

  1. kls513 says:

    A résumé is a document used by individuals to present their background and skillsets.

    A cover letter is a document sent WITH your resume to provide additional information on your skills and experience and to explain more fully or provide more information.

    prose is basically just a composition or basically just “writing something”

    hope this helps

  2. DAB says:

    Resume = Summary of your education, job skills and work experience

    Cover letter = Letter in which you explain why you are applying for this job, and why you think you are qualified.

    Prose = ordinary language
