I’m a high school graduate, and I’m currently a part-time college student. I have worked for only two months in a low-paying job. I guess I shouldn’t include that in my resume since it’s a job of short duration.

What am I suppose to put in my resume if all I’ve been doing my entire life is going to school for the past twelve years?!

anyone seeking to get into HR with any kind of generalist or specialist experience, in this present recession depression out to know THAT THE COMPETITION OF EVERYKIND EVERY DEGREE, EVERY PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION, EVERY SPEICIALTY NO MATTER HOW EXOTIC, IS IN THE 3-5 MAILBAGs FULL…….hr is not wall street finance and no matter how rare YOU THINK YOU ARE,,,,your competition is in the thousands.

with 25 yrs world class hr experience i tell you if you like people become an RN, learn to love it, get a shrink to help you thru the dailey misery of illness and dealth, thats where the jobs are HR TYPES ARE THE FIRST TO GET KILLED OFF WHEN TIMES GET ROUGH, put HR our of your head,,,wear 4 inch heels, you are not gonna be bossin around people way taller than you,,,be a spark plug worker bee, middle managers get killed off in recessions like hr types.

I could not have said this better! Wow. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been on interviews back in the early 2000’s (for an office job) and I’d was looked as if I was an alien since I only 5 foot 1.

It’s as if everyone in an office is expected to be 5 foot 8. Come on. Not everyone is 5 foot 8. Like DOES attract like. Does this mean I should try to find short people like me that work in offices, so I can get the HR job I desire? JK.

  11. sandbar3000 says:

Ha ha. I just created a functional resume. Why? So I can get into an HR position. Since most of my experience is NOT in an office-I needed to ADD IN my short duration (2 of them) office jobs that I had to show to employers, “Yes, I do have office experience, even though it is only a few months, I do have experience”. How else am I going to get into HR?

  12. garyowen4ever says:

likes hire alike…..geniuses want to see your cv, sealed transcript and college catalog- syllabus, the ivy’s hire ivy’s the top ten percent hire brainiacs and work a holics,,,,good looking well dressed types likes to be around their own kind as well as slouches prefer slouches….congenial and gregarious sales advertizing pr types patronize their own.
